Have you considered going paperless? Or maybe you aren’t quite ready to go 100% paperless, but would like to reduce your paper consumption and time spent at the copy machine… I have been working hard this summer on resources to help me reduce my time spent copying and maybe help me stay within the limits of paper that I am given at my school. I would love to share some of them with you.
All you need to do to prepare your devices is:
Have an internet connection.
Have a google account, for yourself and your students. If you have Google Classroom, then your students should have their own accounts.
Install and log in to Google Drive on all tablets, or log in to Google drive on computers and chromebooks.
Install Google Slides to tablets. This step is not necessary with computers.
Now that you have your devices ready… how will you use them? Even if you don’t have enough for 1:1, there are many ways to use them wisely. Of course there are plenty of apps, but I have created some meaningful resources that will easily fit into your instruction and can be used in small groups or whole group.
These interactive notebooks are perfect for focusing on comprehension skills and could be used for whole group instruction, during guided reading, or as part of your daily 5 rotations (think accountability for listen to reading, read to self, or read with a friend).
These readers notebooks are all paired with a paper-based version, just in case you need a back up plan! Click here to check out the rest of my Go Paperless Reader’s Notebooks. See how they work here:
This back to school flipbook is perfect for open house! You won’t have to worry with all the copying, cutting, and stapling! Better yet, parents will not lose access to this valuable classroom information! See how it works here:
This is a great activity for the first days of school. Students love creating their “All About Me” digital flipbooks, and you can safely share these presentations with parents (all directions are included).
